Things to see in Jorquera
Walls, viewpoints and a village overlooking the Júcar gorge. A place to explore at your own pace.
The place
A village between rock and river
Jorquera stands on a rocky spur surrounded by a bend in the Júcar. Its streets lead from the church of Santa María de la Asunción to the old defences and viewpoints, where you can see the landscape of the valley.
The historic centre still bears the marks of its medieval past. Down by the river, rock gives way to orchards and greenery; further along the valley lies the distinctive Ribera de Cubas.
What to see
Places that tell its story

Torre Blanca
Part of Jorquera’s defensive enclosure. See its walls before continuing towards the viewpoints of the old town.

Almohad walls
The surviving walls and towers recall the village’s strategic position above the Júcar valley.

Ribera de Cubas
Follow the river to find cave houses and the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de Cubas beneath the rock face.
Plan your visit
From the village to the Júcar
Start at a viewpoint to take in the shape of the river bend. Then walk through the village, past the church, Torre Blanca and the walls. On the way down to the riverbank, the landscape turns greener and the sound of water follows you.
For a longer trip, allow time for Ribera de Cubas or combine your visit with Alcalá del Júcar. Check official tourism information before setting off for access details and any changes.
